Lucy Callister wins emerging female surfer

Noosa surfer Lucy Callister has been named th emerging female surfer at the Rusty Gromfest at Lennox Heads.
The talented 13 year old won the prestigious award from more than 200 competitors from Australia to Tahiti, Japan, New Zealand and the United States. Lucy came fifth in the 14-and-under division against female surfers female surfers from Japan and Tahiti, and the judges presented her with the award for her flowing style and confidence in the callenging conditions.
Lucy said she was proud of her achievements. "The Rusty Gromfest comp is always such a hard comp with difficult waves, so to win this award againsta all the best surfers around has given me a lot of confidence.
